Christian Heiss

Christian Heiss is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Surrey and Consultant Interventional Angiologist at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. He specialises in preventing and treating peripheral artery disease and diabetic foot complications, with extensive experience in advanced endovascular revascularisation.


His research focuses on improving outcomes for patients through innovation in diagnostics, lifestyle and nutrition-based prevention, and vascular interventions. He has published widely and helped shape international guidelines in vascular medicine.


Professor Heiss also holds leadership roles as President of the Royal Society of Medicine Council on Vascular, Lipid and Metabolic Medicine, Chair-elect of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Aorta and Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Board Member of the European Society of Vascular Medicine.
